LASER SCANNING BASIC OUTPUTS

3D LASER SCAN

PROCESS

Area scanned with 3D laser scanner. Approximately 30-40 scans per day depending on required resolution. Scan data is registered and colourised to produce the final point cloud file.

OUTPUT

Photographic quality 3D point cloud model. Freeviewer can be used for inspection, walkthroughs, measurement.

USEFUL FOR

Internal review and training. Distribution to contractors to reduce time on site for measurement and inspection.

2D PLAN LAYOUT 'BASIC'

PROCESS

Outline of main buildings, plant and equipment are automatically generated from point cloud.

OUTPUT

Precise 'a built' basic layouts in Autocad dwg or similar.

USEFUL FOR

Documenting 'as built' layouts. Confidence that layouts are automatically generated and not subject normal dimensional errors.

2D PLAN LAYOUT 'DETAILED'

PROCESS

All pipes runs are automatically extracted from the point cloud as a 3D model. Pipe runs are then projected onto plan layout.

OUTPUT

Precise as built detailed layout in Autocad dwg. or similar. Includes all pipe runs on the layout.

USEFUL FOR

Documentation detailing pipe runs in relation to buildings in a format which can be easily printed and used in the fied during construction etc.

 

3D BASIC BUILDING MODEL

PROCESS

Main building walls are modelled from the plan and point cloud.

OUTPUT

3D building walls in Autocad dwg or similar. Can be exported to specific civil engineering 3D design software {eg.REVIT }

USEFUL FOR

Documentation of current building construction which can be integrated into site plan or shared with architects or civil engineers.
